simply speaking, the only difference between your bathing suits and your everyday clothing is some fabric texture and it’s resistance to water. so, me being me, i like to make creative use of every item in my closet which sometimes involves removing it from it’s usual purpose.

black polka dot swimsuit:

i got this cute little number while i was visiting los angeles. i was walking the boardwalk of venice beach, saw it on a mannequin and knew that i had to have it. it makes for an adorable swimsuit. i picture myself relaxing in this suit on the front of a boat with a sunhat on and a drink in hand (gosh if only). but i have also worn this as a bodysuit for a night out with some black jeans. in the photos above i decided to pair it with a pair of denim shorts and a white turtle neck to lighten up the look and give it more of a streetwear vibe. the belt and the earrings were paired as accessories to make it more complete. the beige belt kept the neutral vibe of the outfit and also tied into the swimsuit with its touches of black on the buckle.

burnt orange shimmer bikini top:

i bet you’ll never guess where i got this guy from. haaaaa jk it’s from target of course. i found this one on sale for like $7. i think that i have actually worn this more as a clothing piece than as a bathing suit. it makes for a great crop top with a high skirt or high waisted denim. because this covers less than the average crop top i appreciate that it has a rounded square neckline because it hides cleavage more than a deep v would. (in my mind if i show less boob then i can show more stomach loll. is that just me?) here, i kept the summer vibe by paring it with skirts and my oversized button down silk top. I would wear something like this to a day drink at a beach bar or for a walk around a beach town with my iced coffee in hand and cat eye sunglasses covering my face.
